At the West Kerry SEC meeting held on September 7th, 2023, we heard the great news that 65 farmers have begun the process of installing PV panels on their farms. These installations will reduce the farmers’ energy bills, reduce energy demand on the grid, and will undoubtedly decrease the carbon footprint of West Kerry.
Dinny Galvin from the Dingle Hub and his steering Committee, DC Six Technologies and Solar Beo, held an information night in i bPáirc Ghnó an Daingin le Údarás na Gaeltachta to discuss the process with the farmers. Solar Beo will begin auditing the farms to advise them on what system they should install and which grant to avail of. Each farm is orientated differently so these audits will provide extremely valuable information.
