Dingle Hub Awarded Grant to Help Reduce Hot Water Use

Shows water and steam coming from a shower headDingle Hub has been awarded €18,000 in funding from the Community Climate Action Program, an initiative of the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment.

The Hub will use this grant to help businesses and households reduce hot water use, measuring consumption and suggesting practical solutions such as low-flow devices.

While a simple step, reducing hot water use can significantly cut water consumption, as well as energy use and costs (hot water can be up to six times as expensive as cold water).

The Hub will track the outcome of the project, so the community can see directly how small changes can have a big impact.  The data will also help with a wider rollout across Kerry and beyond.
