The Riasc Partnership have just successfully delivered the first series of workshops tailored specifically to support Creative Businesses on the Peninsula and it is clear that there is a significant opportunity to develop businesses in this sector to move forward to generate further employment opportunities. The next steps are to facilitate the development of a much needed supportive professional network for creative sole traders; to determine, where relevant, the appropriate agency supports and funding to bring businesses to the next level and to seek funding to run a second series of these workshops for those who missed the first opportunity.
Almost one hundred of you came along came to the LED bulb swap event hosted at Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne recently and swapped over 300 old light bulbs for new energy saving LEDs. This translated to an energy saving of 15,300 kWh/year and saved 13.8 tonnes of CO2/year from going into the atmosphere. That’s a significant step on the journey towards a low carbon society!
